Enjoying delicious, home-cooked meals has never been so easy!
It all started over a decade ago, with a couple of grade 2 kids who became best friends and introduced their moms, and an article in O, The Oprah Magazine.
We – Joni Lien and Chris Wood – are two busy, Oakville, Ontario moms who were tired of the daily scramble to feed our families. We first heard about the “meal assembly approach” to cooking in a short article in Oprah Magazine; at last, we’d found an easy, fun way to get hot, fresh, nourishing food on the dinner table and we wanted to help others do the same!
The only problem was that there were no meal assembly businesses in Canada at the time! Neither one of us was the entrepreneurial type, but the concept made so much sense to us that we took a HUGE leap of faith –we did our research, changed careers, leveraged our homes, and launched SupperWorks in November 2005.
I’ll never know how MacLean’s magazine found us, but I’ll be eternally grateful for the article that pushed us into the public eye and spawned a whole host of media attention - Breakfast Television, CH Morning, Fortune Hunters, Til Debt Do Us Part, The Globe and Mail, City Parent, and West of the City – just to name a few!
Positive feedback kept rolling in from happy customers, and, to top it off, we were awarded the 2007 Entrepreneur of the Year Award (Oakville Chamber of Commerce/Rotary Club) and the prestigious 2006 Achievement in Retail Concept Award (Cadillac Fairview). What a whirlwind!
Today, SupperWorks has grown across Southern Ontario with an amazing Team as passionate as I am about helping busy people eat well. Whether you’re looking for fresh or frozen main dishes, side dishes and desserts, seasonal appetizers, prepared holiday dinners, or cooked and portioned Meals for One, we do the grocery shopping, recipe testing, and all of the ingredient prep and clean-up. Eating well has never been this easy or this delicious!
Welcome to the SupperWorks Kitchen!
